If you are using WordPress, definitely turn on Akismet.  Once the spam-bots find you, there is a lot of spam comments  I've had over 19090 spam comments on my blog http://www.nyoatrader.com/blog in a little over a year.  Akismet has caught at least 19000 of them.  Only once have I found a real comment in my spam.

Both Bill Mulrenin and I use WordPress also for our blogs and have not had any significant problems.  Sure, the Russian mafia tries to flog us with comment spam (him much more than me!) but WordPress' Akismet plug-in catches it all.</description>
