Weeki Wachee Scout Days
We literally handle hundreds of thousands of patches each year. Still, we come across ones we’ve never before seen. I don’t know what it is or where its from but I can’t think of another Scout patch with a mermaid on it. Sounds like they must have had some fun program-type Scouters in this council.

Weeki Wachee, with the tourist attraction mermaids, is in Florida. I’ve heard a few news stories about it in the past few years, and I’m sure it would yield to some googling.

You’re probably right. I know it wasn’t from Michigan. There aren’t enough days where you could wear that few clothes (except last years NOAC).

I assume it was some kind of program to get Scouts at the mermaid attraction at Weeki Wachee Springs. Probably the same sort of thing as a baseball team or science museum having a “Scout Day”.
The place still operates–although it’s had financial difficulties and been on the verge of closing. They have a web page at http://www.weekiwachee.com/.
