Although not in this league (dollar wise) I am happy to see fine rare items command the respect of such a price. Question: how is such a piece authenticated? If it is a rare new find, not previously recorded, 14+K is a lot of trust. In addition, I do hope it was a clean auction. Anything else just tarnishes this great hobby and deters future collectors from finding the joy that we have found.

I'm curious what constitutes bidding that "looks like shill bidding"? There were three bidders above $3900. The #2 bidder bid once, and his 30-day bidding history looks like a normal Scout patch bidder.

The #3 bidder did bid MANY times--although some folks do that, just trying to chip away and win an auction by the narrowest possible margin. #3's 30-day bidding history has the suspicious-looking notation that 56% of the bids have been with the seller of the Aheka N/C, BUT that 56% includes the 17 bids on the Aheka. So if that one item is dropped, #3 only bid once (in 15 bids on 14 items) on another item from the Aheka seller.
