Now we have fake camp patches
Coming from “patch–world” of Lingen, Germany on eBay we now have fakes of camp patches. This one is for the Transatlantic Council Camp Mohawk, their summer camp based in England, for 1957. Design is close but not close enough. Of course the description makes no mention that this was recently made, not 50 years ago.
We’re having trouble keeping up with all of the fakes coming out. We’re posting more of this guy’s fakes. No where in the titles of any of these does he indicate they are fakes or re-makes or private issues.
These include the 2000 Philmont staff arrowhead, 1953 National Jamboree jacket patch, region8 patch, 428 R1, 383 Tahosa dance team patch, 146 Tichora event first flap. The list is long and dubious.

He’s also got fakes of the Nentico X4 (tomahawk-shaped “Nanticoke Builder”) and the 1962 Area 3A round (Nentego 20 hosting at Camp Rodney).

Thanks Dave. As I said, I can’t keep up. There even more that this guy’s done. I can’t really fathom why he chose some of these.

Roy

New additions for this guy – a 221 Muscogee chenille and a 314 Mishawaka X. These appear to be embroidered on felt/composition. Weird and obviously a scam.

This is the second example of a person selling military patches on eBay who is selling fake Boy Scout badges. In military collecting these folks think nothing of reproducing the old unit patches and selling them with no mention they are reproductions. They’ve just lapped over into doing the same thing with Boy Scout badges. I emailed one seller to tell him his 498 Hinode Goya flap was fake and gave him the oaimages link. No reply, doesn’t care, and has listed it again without mentioning it’s a fake or reproduction.

Yes Bob, there does seem to be a cross over also with police department badges. A little strange coming out of Germany but not totally unexpected. He, this seller, clearly does not care what he’s doing if he can make a buck. The way for it to stop is for him to lose money on this.

His latest is the US world jamboree IST patch. Very poor in comparsion to the real one.

I am currently selling my P2K Philmont patch on eBay. I did my trek in 2000 and they only made this patch that year. It is very rare. Please share with everyone that might be interested. Thanks
