Live Blogging the Jamboree – The Mumble Alert System
With the weather warnings and the heat warnings the announcement system has become a running joke. Its loud and one can hear it throughout the camp but you can’t understand a word they say after ‘Attention, attention…” Basically after an announcement we all look around at each other wondering what did they just say? Then we take a guess and hope we’re right (a weather rock would be just as useful for those who remember these from summer camps.)

The mumble alert system definitely was a problem (as at past Jamborees). All we knew was that something was up, but what it was definitely was a mystery! I also signed up for the mass alert system, and never received a single alert (though others did). Word of mouth still was the best alert we had….
